Newlyweds: Start here for a happy marriage (focusing on your career, your goals and more!)

**CALLING ALL NEWLYWEDS / AMBITIOUS CAREER DRIVEN PEOPLE IN COUPLES** Ring the alarm… clap your hands… stamp your feet… hey, do all of the above if you so feel inclined. Today, I am celebrating the launch of my first ever online coaching programme, focused around important elements surrounding your happy marriage (and the importance of focus on yourself, your goals, your career, your communication and so much more), so all celebratory sounds and gestures are appreciated! Can I get a whoop whoop?!   Truly… I have benefited HUGELY (I’m not kidding you… hugely) from some of the online programmes I’ve done including a programme via Claire Mitchell of The Girls Mean Business and Emma Holmes at The Launch Queen (my mentor extraordinaire for anything launch related and I feel like I’m in the best hands!) – and a few others too… so when I saw the power, the sheer brilliance of how bringing like minded people together on an online course can transform and accelerate results – I knew I wanted to do something which would have a similarly positive and life enhancing impact for my Limitless and Happily Ever After for Grown-Ups communities.   So yes, here it is – the Happily Ever After for Grown-Ups online programme is now available – for a special early bird price until 11.59pm (UK time) on Monday 9 November and still a hugely generous, accessible price after that too (just not quite as amazing as the early bird offer – lol)   If you’re on the Limitless Coaching mailing list, you would have received all of the information a couple of weeks... read more
From Summer Chilling to Autumn Productivity…

From Summer Chilling to Autumn Productivity…

So what did you do last summer? (Well… in the summer that has just officially come to an end as we entered autumn equinox)…   I have to admit, for me… summer 2015 was unlike any summer I have had in recent years. Why you ask? Because for quite a bit of it… I rested! I relaxed. I truly switched off at times. For a gal whose default is “on the go” – having most elements of my summer involving ‘chilling’ felt quite strange but once I got over it, it was awesome and I’d happily take the same approach again in the future.   Now, we’re in September and I’m somewhat revitalised and figured this would be an excellent time to share some ideas about how to turn “summer chilling”  mode into “autumn productivity” central if you, like me, are ready to step it up a gear. I think it’s worth mentioning (in case you haven’t realised), that we are rapidly approaching the last quarter of 2015 and while it’s certainly not worth panicking and scrambling as we head towards the finish line of the year… it is definitely worth taking a step back, re-prioritising, strategising and moving into the last quarter with clarity and confidence. After all, that p***ed off or guilty feeling when we know we could have achieved more of our important goals in the year isn’t fun – so let’s avoid that scenario and get clear now.   So, here is what I suggest as we make the final transition from summer relaxation to autumn productivity. Let’s do two exercises that will give us... read more
Passionate employees: Chill out… you’re not the CEO

Passionate employees: Chill out… you’re not the CEO

A post for passionate employees: Don’t worry gorgeous Limitless Community, these are not the words someone said to me (ha… that would not have gone down well!) but are in fact the words that as a passionate employee, I have needed to say to myself this week. It took a while to come to the conclusion that these were the right words to restore my balance but when I found them… man did I exhale! Truly, I exhaled and continue to exhale. My shoulders dropped (from a tense position to a more relaxed one) and I was ready to crack on with my day.     I wonder if you can relate. Are you passionate about your work? I mean super passionate. About the work you do as an individual… how you fit in to a bigger team and how it all fits into the company? Whether you work in finance or education, the arts or healthcare – you’re hopefully passionate about what you do. This post is inspired by a professional, career related experience but can perhaps even be related to a family… and how you all fit together… the same questions about passion apply.   You see… in my career, from working in the media to working in education, I’ve always had a fierce pride in what I do. In what I can positively contribute to a team. I love to listen, learn and develop and I love to contribute, be heard and help to develop others. Working within education and career development (in my employed work) and career coaching (in my own business initiative) – this... read more
Is there strength in numbers?

Is there strength in numbers?

Are you of the belief that there is strength in numbers? What does strength in numbers mean to you? Do you consider yourself to be at your optimum when you are working on your own or when you are working in a team? If you had your way… would it be you jamming in seclusion with your laptop and making magic or would you be in a group – face to face or virtual – coming up with life enhancing ideas (and ways to execute them)   I mean if one wo/man is an island… then a group of people is what… a mob?   Not quite…   While I am an only child (something I grew to love after my 10 year old self realised that mummy and daddy weren’t going to heed my requests for a sibling) – in recent years #achievemoretogether has become one of my biggest mantras (oooh… we’ll be talking about mantras in a blog and video soon… so get yours ready). For me, Achieve More Together resonates because I have come to the conclusion that as much as I can do on my own, more often than not, an appreciation of “togetherness” / strength in numbers can take what I am looking to achieve to the next level.   Hold up, wait a minute! I am not suggesting that: We can’t or shouldn’t do things on our own because actually, if we don’t get our head down and ‘just do it’ – things are rarely seen through to completion. Focusing and doing things on your own is a key part of your success. Introverts... read more
Productivity hack: Eat that frog now

Productivity hack: Eat that frog now

If you are a fellow child of the 80s – you may remember the at-the-time iconic video that was Michael Jackson’s “Black or White”. We’re talking early 90s, Jacko at his best, a video that has awesome ‘special effects’ at the end and a young Maculay Culkin kicking things off with the words “Eat This”. Why this walk down memory lane? Well… I created a video for you with the tile “Eat” in it and I haven’t been able to get this video out of my head since – so why fight it?! (Feel free to put on your dancing shoes and check out Michael Jackson’s Black or White video here) Anyhoo…back to the point at hand – I’ve put together a little productivity tips video for you inspired by Brian Tracy’s “Eat that Frog” concept – the idea of starting your day doing the most important thing first.   So why productivity? Well… I know readers of the Limitless Coaching blog tend to be driven, high achieving people who have big ambitions. While our ambition is big, our time isn’t always and time management is always made easier when you have a few easy tools to hand. (Having real clarity when it comes to your direction is helpful too… but more about that later) Enter: this video. Click on the image below (or this link) to access the (less than 2 minute) video which I hope will give you food for thought when you’re striving to be more productive.   Get involved in the comments below. Rev up your 2015 goals (features video)

Rev up your 2015 goals (features video)

Soon after our exclamations of “OMG – how is it already 2015” – the first three months of the year have also whizzed by. It’s time to face facts folks. Time really does fly (at least it does when you’re not in crisis or ‘survival’ mode) and that means that if you have set yourself some goals for this year, it’s time to get your skates on before you blink and you miss it. This is a great time to take stock. What’s been going well so far this year? What are you proud of? Where are you on the journey towards your varying goals? Answer these questions truthfully and either pat yourself on your back and keep on trucking (whoop whoop to your achievements!) or light a fire under your posterior and get going. Now if you haven’t set yourself some goals. You’re not off the hook. In fact, you can also join in the exercise described in the video below as without consciously making the effort to clarify and move forward with what you want – you run the danger of ‘existing’ and not progressing. I’m sure you don’t want to reach the 2016 mark wondering what the hell happened to 2015. Your task today? To make a list of 15 things you want to achieve in 2015. Yes this is a forum to support your career development but it’s also about your lifestyle balance so be sure that your list reflects varying sides of your life – some food for thought features in the video (see below). Even if you did this in your own way... read more

I’m a Lucky B***h! (and you are too!) – meeting Denise Duffield Thomas

So… I don’t often use profanity in my posts, much less in the title but today’s post is entirely inspired by the fabulous Denise Duffield Thomas who I had the pleasure of hearing speak in person for the first time, last month. For a girl who doesn’t often buy tickets waaaaay in advance, I have to admit that this event was an exception for me. From the minute I saw it advertised I was sharing the links with the ladies in my women’s mastermind group – and was quick to pick up by own ticket. Let me explain why… A bit of background for you: Denise Duffield-Thomas helps women get over their money blocks and is a money mindset mentor for the new wave of online female entrepreneurs. Yes… you can see why she appeals already right? I consider myself to be an entrepreneur-in-training (early days yet but I’m thrilled you’re joining me on the journey!). While I haven’t yet read   “Lucky Bitch”, her first book… I absolutely loved “Get Rich, Lucky Bitch” and when I saw that Denise was bringing her event of the same name to London, I knew I had to be there. So… on Wednesday 18 February I found myself in a room of 200+ women (Lucky Bs) and one very brave man and can hand on heart say that the event didn’t disappoint. Denise was as down to earth and hilarious as I hoped she’d be  with the sorts of observations and money manifesting tips that she shares in her book… and the atmosphere in the room was indescribable. There’s something so powerful about being... read more

Feed your soul: Goal setting in 2015 (features video)

Feed your soul: Goal setting in 2015 (features video)

A New Year always holds so much promise. So much potential. 2015 is no different. I am thrilled to have seen the start of the new year in a country I was new to (Suriname) and with people that mean the world to me (my hubby and my parents). As we stood there and watched the fireworks which signified the new year had arrived (fireworks that I might add I’ve only ever seen rivaled by a Disney theme park!) – we said thank you to 2014 and the shift into the new year was clear. And exciting… Make 2015 meaningful. I encourage you to set yourself goals with soul this year – goals that mean something more beyond being ticked off a list. What are your goals? How do they make you feel? Do they excite you? Challenge you? Frighten you a bit? Are you ready to tackle them so that you have a memorable (and let’s face it… awesome 2015?) Check out the video below, filmed just after New Year at the beautiful Hermanston Lodge in Georgetown, Guyana (ahhhh, sunshine – I’m already missing the sunshine…). Here, somewhat inspired by Danielle LaPorte’s “Desire Map” approach to goal setting – I encourage you to really consider how you set your New Year’s Resolutions this year. Yes it may be valid to set some of the same goals when it comes to anything that was unfinished… but wouldn’t it be great to take it to another level? To dig deeper and really think about why you want some of these achievements? What will it mean when you get there? The... read more
5 steps to summer success…

5 steps to summer success…

Towards the end of July, most school children in UK received their end of year report card. Remember those days? Well, being on the flip side, I didn’t personally feel the joy or worry that comes with this kind of assessment – BUT it did inspire me to think about how I would be assessed against my targets for 2014 at this stage.  Seeing as I love a good audit (as anyone who’s read Happily Ever After for Grown-Ups will know) – it became a prompt for me to imagine my end of term report… and it was a great exercise. In summary, it was a little bit like this:  Goal (NB: Phrased here in a very general way – don’t worry…I have these in a more specific, measurable way!) Assessment Grade Effort Grade (where 1 is excellent and 4 leaves much to be desired!) Career development B- 2 Health & Fitness aspirations C+ 2 / 3 Focus on family and friends B 2 Adventure / fun B 2 Gratitude B+ 1 To have a fair idea, you first need to know what your targets are – and it’s most likely that these will involve recognition / clarity about your New Year’s Resolutions…and if you weren’t clear then, why don’t you get clear now.  What might yours be like?  Looking (way back) towards my school days, I had to really work hard to achieve the A grades I wanted and these days it’s no different. Not only can it be difficult but is also a strategic approach needed in going for your goals… but when you really want something –... read more

I believe in the power to change or develop anything that needs it and I have an unshakable belief in your ability to create a career and lifestyle which makes you light up.
