One for parents with big career ambitions!

One for parents with big career ambitions!

All has been quiet here on the western (well… the Limitless Coaching) front, especially since I took on my most important role to date… mummy to my now 16 week old (first) child. Life has since been a whirlwind and I think is fair to say “unrecognisable” and it prompted me to open up to my email subscribers about the experience to date and what it means in terms of my coaching offering… which is why this post may be of particular interest to parents with big career ambitions.

I don’t think I could say it better or with more ‘realness’ than how I shared it with my subscribers so I’m reproducing the email below and inviting you to sign up to the new list if you’re also a parent with big career ambitions!

———–

When you’re wrong you’re wrong (and I’ll admit it… I was!)

When was the last time you came to the conclusion that you’d gotten something completely wrong? (and admitted it!). Mine has been recently as you can probably tell… and I’m laughing at myself as a result.

You may have noticed that I haven’t popped into your inbox as much as I normally like to. Yes, your “regular” dose of kick **** actionable, motivational career and lifestyle content has been, well, irregular! If you’re a long-standing member of this community, you can probably guess why. Yes… that’s right. Becoming a mummy for the first time recently (back in February) has been so all encompassing and challenging (not to mention joyous and life changing) that I haven’t had a lot of laptop time, planning time, writing time… or indeed much time when Naila’s not in my arms (yes… she’s a pretty darn cuddly baby – read on to the bottom of this email to see a fun/ny picture of us as a family at a recent reunion with some of my uni friends)

…Which leads me to my admission of being oh so wrong…

In my last newsletter, I presumptuously uttered the words “while this community won’t be shifting towards one specifically aimed at parents” – and as the months have rolled on, it seems like I spoke out of turn with that one as I have decided that for now, I will have a change of focus… towards exactly that group – (new) mummies and parents in general. Yup – I’ve made a complete 180 with that statement (ooooh… I could be a politician!). Seriously though, as you’re one of my people, I wanted to take a few moments to explain what will now be happening (and the inspiration behind it). Essentially…

Don’t disappear… I remain as committed as ever to serving you… This awesome Limitless community of career climbers and changers, those on the cusp of promotion, thought leaders, students thinking about their first steps into the working world, newlyweds redefining their professional lives and more… however, for now, my energy is all in on this parenting business! I’m honoured to have been chosen to be Naila’s mama and for now, while she’s at the tender age of 16 weeks – I can see that she is a key aspect of my focus and inspiration.

What does that mean? Well it means that I could decide to take a step back from coaching for awhile… put Limitless Coaching on ice – lol – but if you know me you know that’s unlikely to happen unless I saw no other alternative… and luckily, not only did I find an alternative but I’m incredibly excited about it and feel like I’ve been called to do it:

I’m excited to say that I am introducing a Limitless Coaching for parents offering. It has become frighteningly clear recently that for parents, and often particularly for new mums who have been career orientated for their whole lives, maternity leave becomes a crucial time at which to figure out what to do with your career moving forward. Mums can often feel like their choices are incredibly limited and it can be scary to make major career related decisions when there’s a little one in tow, family and lifestyle to consider and nothing really feels right – or exciting – it just feels like a case of “I’ve gotta do what I’ve gotta do”. That is not how I ever want anyone to see their professional options and as a result, I’ll be creating programmes and content which reaches out to this group – and hopefully helps to transform a scary time to a more exciting and empowering one for parents and couples. I’ll even still be able to do videos etc as with this audience, it won’t be odd that you can see or hear Naila in the background!

So what happens now?

  1. Stay signed up to this list. It may be more ‘irregular’ content for now but “I’ll be back” – there’ll be a lot more from Limitless Coaching as you currently know it and I don’t want you to miss out when that happens.
  2. If you are in the parents with big career ambitions club (whether on maternity leave or back into the swing of things at work), are a parent-to-be or if you know any parents who will benefit from inspirational, actionable career and lifestyle related content – SIGN UP TO THE NEW NEWSLETTER LIST HERE (if that hyperlink doesn’t work, cut and paste this instead http://eepurl.com/b2hdZ1). That will be the home of the new parent-focused career content as I don’t want to spam this group! Don’t do it later… sign up here now!
  3. Never never never think that you need to fit into a box to work with me: You don’t need to be a new mama / parent for us to work together! I love working with a range of kick **** peeps on a one to one coaching basis (though that time is more limited at the moment so I’m being uber selective with clients) – so if you have worked with me in the past or always wanted to it is absolutely possible (and welcome!). The only thing that’s changing is my adjustment of what I can produce. As my time is tight I’m being very focused on parents with big career ambitions when it comes to the content and group programmes I’m creating… but am happy to work with anyone who recognises that they can accelerate the journey to their goals through our work together.

Thank you for allowing me to share this update with you. You’re an important motivation for what I do here so it feels right to share this next chapter with you.

I’d love you to reply with any thoughts you’d like to share – and (just in case I haven’t mentioned it enough) – sign up for the new newsletter here if it’s of interest to you (and please do share the opportunity with your friends too). Takes 30 seconds to sign up… (even if it’s with a smart phone in your hands while being a human pillow for your newborn!)

To your successes…

Hugs,

Gina x
